Frances Virginia Harrison

Services honoring the life of Mrs. Frances V. Harrison will be held at St. Rest Baptist Church on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. the visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Rest Cemetery.

Frances V. Harrison , 86, of Arcadia, La, went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, La. following a lengthy illness.

Frances was born on February 20, 1940, to Harold H. and RubyBaxter Harrison at their home in NW Lincoln Parish. She attended the one-room school house on Nobles School Road before attending Ruston schools and graduating from Ruston High School in 1957. Frances continued her education at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute where she earned a Bachelor’sand Master's degrees in Home Economics. She taught at Louisiana Tech before moving to Ruston High to spend her working tenure teaching Home Economics there. She received several awards for her excellence in home economics vocational training.

She was a lifelong member of St. Rest Baptist Church where she faithfully attended and served as WMU Director, Church Historian, and Training Union Teacher. Frances loved the Lord, her family, her friends, her church, RHS, and her country and lived her life in service to them.

Frances is survived by her Baxter and Harrison cousins – Fred Baxter, Cheryl Baxter Monroe, Martha Jean White, Jaynelle Sullivan, Carl Calvin Thomas, Jr., Anne McConathy, Betty Schneider, Tim Harrison, Michael Harrison, Liz Trant, Cathy Harper, Angie Smith, special friends: Angie Walker, Jimmy Ray Hill, and a wealth of former students and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents , aunts and uncles, and cousin Randy Harrison.

The family is thankful to Rosalyn Hayes and her daughters for their faithful, loving service to Frances over the past years. We also thank the staff at Princeton Place and Cornerstone Hospital for their loving service in caring for Frances during her last days.

Pallbearers will be Tim Baxter, Pat Harper, Bradley Scoggins, Glenn Speake, David Walker and John Lane Wilson.

Memorials may be sent to Saint Rest Cemetery Association, c/o Treasurer Patricia Murad, 1329 Mitcham Orchard Road, Ruston, LA 71270 , or to the Gideons International.

Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, La with Dr. Randy Ray, Bro. Ronnie Sanders, and Bro. Bill McConathy officiating.
