Frances entered her heavenly home and met face to face with her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1932 in Choudrant, LA to Preston and Blanche Martin. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was an extremely accomplished pianist. She played for church services, Sunday school, and family gatherings. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's school events and other activities they were involved in. Frances was the beloved wife of Randall Barrish for 46 years and loving mother of Randy, Rebecca, and Karen. Frances loved Jesus immensely and her family deeply. She always put her family first as well as other loved ones and everyone could count on her because she was our rock. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. Frances taught us kindness, love, humility, acceptance, respect, forgiveness, dignity, and a sense of humor. She looked for the good in each person and found that good quality in everyone. Frances recognized that serving others enriched the giving soul. She taught us what it means to be an incredible mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the greatest gift of unconditional love. Her last words to her family and friends were always "I Love You". She knew how to be true and loyal to everyone with her generous and giving soul. Frances truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with her beloved family, chatting with friends, reading and watching Hallmark movies along with LSU, Saints and Dallas football games. She was a homemaker and worked at Bell South and Sears after graduating from C.E. Byrd High School in her earlier years and had the pleasure of raising her children for the majority of the years.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randall Barrish; daughter, Diane Barrish Smith; three grandchildren; siblings, Geraldine Toups, Fern Martin, Pat Martin, Claude Martin, and Harry Martin; and a son-in-law.
