In Loving Memory of Fran Moore
Fran Moore, born October 6, 1937, passed away on September 23, 2026, of natural causes, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her dearly.
Fran was a warm and genteel woman who found great joy in bringing people together. She was always happy to entertain and was known for welcoming family and friends with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. For Fran, food was one of the greatest expressions of love. Her love language was feeding people.
She loved cooking for her family and friends and hosted many memorable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, often bringing large family gatherings together around her table. Fran was a wonderful Cajun and Southern cook, and the meals she prepared were always made with love and enjoyed by all the fortunate people she welcomed into her life. Her home was a place where people could gather, share a meal, enjoy a cup of coffee, play a game, and make memories.
Fran enjoyed an active life filled with adventure, new experiences, and time spent doing the things she loved. Whether bowling, fishing, traveling, exploring the country in an RV, or enjoying the excitement of snow skiing, she embraced life's opportunities with enthusiasm. Her experiences and adventures reflected her willingness to try new things, make memories, and enjoy the journey along the way.
Fran also had a true love for games and was, as some of her family fondly describe her, a real “old-school gamer”. She enjoyed playing dominoes, 42, cards, gin rummy, Pokeno, Spoons, and Bingo. She participated in several game groups where she played weekly games and was in a bowling league for fun, fellowship, and prizes. She loved the laughter, competition, and friendships that came with every game.
Fran's greatest joy, however, was her family and the people she welcomed into her life. Her home was a place where people could gather, share a meal, enjoy a cup of coffee, play a game, and make memories. Her kindness, generosity, humor, and love of family will be deeply missed.
Fran is survived by her son, Dave Butcher and wife Jill Butcher; her daughter, Neecee Blackwell; grandson, Wade Butcher and wife Regina; grandson, Zac Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Luke and Abigail Butcher; sister-in-law, Sharon Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a dear friend of over 50 years, Doris Thomas.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmie Butcher, and husband Herman Moore, her brother, Ernie Foster; and sister, Myrtie Conner, and her parents, Harvey and Cora Foster.
She will be missed for her jovial heart, her wonderful cooking, her love of games, and most of all, the way she made people feel welcome.
Her table was always open, her coffee was always ready, and there was always room for family and friends. The love she shared so freely will remain a treasured part of the lives of all who knew her.
