Florice "Flo" Jenkins Cart

Florice “Flo” Jenkins Cart, 63, was born on March 19, 1959, to Frank Jenkins, Sr. and Patricia Pratt Jenkins in El Dorado, Arkansas. She left her earthly body on November 26, 2022, in Bossier City, Louisiana, to rejoice with her family, friends, and Jesus in Heaven.

Flo was raised in Hamburg, Arkansas, and graduated from Hamburg High School in 1977. She then attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello and became a loving wife and mother.

While working at Harrison’s Department store as a young girl, Flo discovered her talent for designing jewelry, interior decorating, and fashion. After moving to Louisiana, she continued using her talent as a bridal consultant at Dillard’s and creating special jewelry pieces. She also obtained a Louisiana Real Estate License because she enjoyed building, remodeling, and selling houses.

Flo accompanied her husband to horse races and developed a fondness for horses. She owned thoroughbred horses and spent forty years attending races at Louisiana Downs, Fair Grounds, Oaklawn, and Delta Downs. She also liked to travel and volunteer in her community. Most notably, she served as a volunteer at Senator John McCain’s office in Arizona and attended many special events for the United States Senate.

Flo loved to listen to music, sing, dance, and attend concerts. For many years, she taught children’s dance classes and aerobics classes. One of her most special gifts was writing beautiful and emotional stories and poetry. Flo was blessed with the ability to share hope and happiness through her breathtaking smile and radiant laugh.

Flo was a devoted Christian with a desire to share her faith with others. She found joy in reading her Bible, watching religious documentaries, teaching Sunday school, and learning about all religions. Flo’s passion in life was to help others, especially children. For many years, she was a substitute teacher and volunteer at Benton Public Schools. She wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, and she did so by helping those in need in any way she could. She spent a lifetime serving others in some capacity, and she welcomed everyone into her home and her heart. She was kind, caring, and truly selfless.

Flo is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dale Cart, Sr.; her parents; and one sister, Cindy Jenkins. Flo is survived by one daughter, Jana Pierce of Bossier City, Louisiana; four stepsons, Kelly Cart, Brad Cart and wife, Connie, Jeff Cart and wife, Lori, Jerry Dale Cart, Jr. and wife, Diane, all of Binger, Oklahoma; one sister, Eva Arrington and husband, Ben Arrington of Monticello, Arkansas; two brothers, Frank Jenkins, Jr. of San Diego, California, and David Jenkins and wife, Sharon of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
