Fayrene Lumm Brown, 87, of Stonewall, Louisiana, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Brookdale in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Fayrene was born on May 5, 1939, in Shelby County, Texas to John William Lumm, Sr. and Etta Jeanette Madden. Fayrene grew up in Joaquin, Texas and graduated from Joaquin High School. Fayrene worked for AT&T in Shreveport.
On August 17, 1957, she married Henry Floyd Brown and together they raised two children and shared 58 years of marriage.
Fayrene loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall.
She is survived by her sons, John D. Brown and wife, Debbie of Frierson, and Sidney Brown and wife, Bridgette of Stonewall; grandchildren, Erin McClain and husband, Zach of Stonewall, Emily Whisenhunt and husband, Blaine of Benton, Trey Brown and wife, Chelsey of Keithville; great-grandchildren, Kaseden, John Michael, Luke, Sydney, Colt, and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Floyd Brown; her parents, J.W. Lumm, Sr. and Etta Lumm; brothers, J. W. Lumm, Jr., Edward Lumm; and sisters, Patricia Springer, Louise Hancock, and Shirley Prewitt.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr.in Shreveport from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall. Burial will follow at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana.
Honoring Fayrene at pallbearers will be Trey Brown, Zach McClain, Blaine Whisenhunt, Andrew Martarona, Joey Martarona, and Kaseden Whisenhunt. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Scott Martarona and David Culver.
