Funeral services for Evonne Samuel Cash, 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Sam Carr.
Evonne was born on October 13, 1953 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Henry J. Adams and Geraldine Samuel and passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Evonne was an active member at Life United, formally known as Word of Life, for over 30 years, volunteering in many capacities such as Life Group Leader and making an impact in the lives of God's children. She was an Intercessory Prayer Warrior for Life United and graduated from the Word of Life School of Ministry in 2004. She was devoted to her prayer line, We Pray Always Global Prayer Team.
She had a servant's heart and loved helping others. She was a seamstress and quilter and enjoyed teaching quilting classes. She loved to sing, giving back to her church and community, was involved in prison and hospital ministries and was a dedicated civil servant for the Louisiana Workforce Commission. She was an active Voter Commissioner for the State of Louisiana for Precinct #92 along with other various precincts.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Felicia Alexander and Valencia Hall; sons, Derrell Hall, Terry Samuel, Harry Samuel and Larry Samuel; sister, Della Fields and brother, Jesse A. Adams.
Honoring Evonne as pallbearers will be Derrell Hall, Terry Samuel, Harry Samuel, Larry Samuel, Willie Ballard and Myles Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Life United, 4425 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, LA 71109 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
