Funeral services for Everette Smylie Cole, 90, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Monsignor Earl Provenza officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Everette was born November 9, 1928 in Lecompte, LA and went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Everette was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, football, and coaching. He was a loving husband and father. Everette was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marie Angel Cole; and sisters, Bessie Cummings, Katy Maxwell, and Estelle Keller. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Burna R. Cole; children, David R. "Butch" Cole, M. Faye Cole-Tanner, Paul Cole, Linda Cole, and Chad Cole; brother, James Cole; sisters, Ethel Treadwell and Jackie Cook; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to give a special thanks to the VA Hospital and the Guest House for all of their care.
