Graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Vie Evelyn Peirson will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Arcadia Cemetery.
Mrs. Evelyn Pierson was born May 18, 1933, in Arcadia, Louisiana to Harry and Annie Mae Lonidier McKethan. She entered into rest on September 12, 2025, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Mrs. Evelyn was a very integral part of Arcadia. Jonathan Stewart dubbed her as “Mrs. Arcadia” for all her dedication to the town of Arcadia. Evelyn began her career as a hairdresser in downtown Arcadia. She then went to work for the library in the bookmobile. After working on the road for a bit, she decided to work inside the library for several years. After working for the library, she went to work with the Chamber of Commerce, where she was a champion for Arcadia. While working in the Depot, the town was gifted with its iconic train car. She got Polland’s Hardware to donate the red paint, and Sheriff Arvis Whittman to let the prison trustees paint it. During this time, she also worked at the voting polls. Mrs. Evelyn loved her community and was always working to make it a better place.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Annie Mae McKethan, daughter Laquita Pierson, and father of her children Chuck Pierson.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Bruce Pierson, grandson Chuck White and wife Kari, great grandchildren Owen and Shelby, and by numerous other extended family.
