A funeral service for Evelyn Dunn Pender, 92, will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Haughton Cemetery in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Gerald Huddleston.
Evelyn was born on September 16, 1933, to William T. Dunn, and Agnes P. Smith, in Oakdale, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Evelyn was a woman who found joy in creating and caring for others. She loved to cook, sew, and work with ceramics, and she especially cherished the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite. Her home was always filled with festive touches throughout the year, reflecting the warmth and happiness she found in celebrating. Evelyn had a creative spirit and a deep appreciation for traditions that brought people together.
She was a giving and nurturing woman who loved her family with her whole heart. Evelyn had a gentle way of caring for others, always offering comfort, kindness, and support to those around her. Her generosity and loving nature touched everyone who knew her, and her presence brought a sense of home wherever she was. She will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the love she shared so freely.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Durwood Dunn, Willie Dunn, and Glenn Dunn; sister, Yvonne Farmer; and two sons, Roger Dale Pender and Robert Wayne Pender. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald E. Pender, Sr. and wife, Brenda; Ronald Dean Dunn, whom she loved like a son; grandchildren, Ronald E. Pender, Jr., Chris Pender, Shelly Mathews, and Shona Procell; nine great‑grandchildren; two great‑great‑grandchildren, with two on the way; and her brother, Roy Dunn.
Honoring Evelyn as pallbearers will be Ronald E. Pender, Jr., and Jeff Mathews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Pilgrim’s Manor for the great care and compassion shown to their mother/grandmother during her stay there.
