HOMER,LA: Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Evelyn Gray Davis, 80, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Gray, officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery of Homer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Mrs. Davis was born October 5, 1936 in Colquitt, LA to James E. and Maurice Evans Gray. She entered into rest Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Shreveport, LA following a short illness. Mrs. Davis gained a huge circle of loving friends throughout her life, who will deeply miss her. She was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with the newest generation, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davis worked for and retired from Presbyterian Village as an Activity Director/Social Worker with over 30 years of service. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 24 years, Ray L. Davis; and grandson, John Christoph. Evelyn is survived by seven children, Ray J. Ebarb, Jr. and wife, Sharon, Mary "Sue" Coburn and husband, Gary, Tim Ebarb and , Paul Ebarb and wife, Deborah, Jennifer Garcia and husband, James, Reggie Ebarb and wife, Lashay and Rainalda Ebarb; two step-children, Stephen Davis and Bonnie Davis Robertson; 25 grandchildren, Holly Rivers, Terria Alexander, Todd Coburn, Clay Coburn, Claire Coburn, Rhonda Caple, Jake Ebarb, Brandy Benefield, Broddie Ebarb, Brittany Ebarb, Christian Vaughn, Heath Heldreth, Erica Palmer, Chris Ebarb, Kane Kilgore, Zak Ebarb, Max Ebarb, Zoe Ebarb, Dex Ebarb, Paul Barnette, Jr., Chet Barnette and wife, Tommi, Hannah Barnette, Hailee Barnette and Nicole Jowers; and 26 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Baleigh, Addison, Josie, Tristan, Grady, Keith, Aynsley, Lillian, Peyton, Savannah, Landon, Caison, Caleb, Kenlee, Cade, Gaby, Kurt, Cydnee, Paislee, Graydon, Austin, Ayden and Avery Faith;two sisters, Catherine Ware and Iva Nell Taylor; two brothers, James Gray and John Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Todd Coburn, Clay Coburn, Jake Ebarb, Broddie Ebarb, Heath Heldreth, Zak Ebarb, Paul Barnette, Jr., Chet Barnette and Cade Ebarb. Honorary pallbearer will be Kane, Max, Caison, Christian, Dex, Caleb, Tristan, Grady, Payton, Landon, Bryce, Kurt, Graydon, Austin, Ayden and Keith. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Davis, her family suggests St. Jude Children's Hospital.
