Esther Faye Nelson

Funeral services for Esther Faye Nelson, 73, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Bro. Tim Tipton officiating. Interment will follow at NW LA Veterans Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the funeral home. Esther was born September 8, 1944 in Natchitoches, LA to Edwin and Nonie Stephens and went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Esther was preceded death by her parents; husband, Leonard "Eddie" Nelson; brothers, Donald Stephens, Thomas Reed Stephens, Joe Stephens, Ottis Stephens, and Samuel "Sonny" Stephens; and sisters, Estelle Sellers, Mildred Smith, Jewel Bennett, and Emma Dorothy Bennet. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Ernest "Tubby" Stephens; daughters, Gwen Pinnick and husband David and Carla Nelson McClain; grandchildren, Kyle and Danielle Milam, Austin and Jared Pinnick, and Zachary, Brooke, and Brian David McClain; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved family members. Honoring Esther as pallbearers will be Hunter Thomas, Brad Thomas, Andrew Pilcher, Austin "Bulldog" Eubanks, Christian Procell, and Kyle Duke. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moose Heart and Moose Haven. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses of Willis-Knighton South and her Home Health nurses, Mollie Woodward and Brooke Martin.
