Estelle Marie Kolniak Notini, age 102, passed away on April 30, 2021 in Shreveport, LA. She was born to Mary Kotlowski Kolniak and Andrew Kolniak on April 15, 1919 in Buffalo, NY.
During World War II, Estelle was \"Rosie the Riveter\" and worked on P40 fighters at Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Company in Buffalo, NY. She was an avid dancer with husband Joseph, and they were charter members of Cross Lake Dance Club, and members of Amigos Dance Club and the USA Ballroom Dance Association. Estelle enjoyed cooking (pizzas and pies were her specialty!) and spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church where she belonged to Merry Elders.
Mrs. Notini was preceded by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Notini; as well as her sisters Verna Dobies, Charlotte Orzechowski, Connie Strzempa, and Anne Pappas; and brothers Hank Kolniak, Frank Kolniak, Stanley Kolniak, and Leo Kolniak. She is survived by daughters Carol Ann Gold and husband Harvey, Kathleen Lopez and husband Al, and Gail Notini; grandchildren, David Gold and wife Denise, Michael Gold, Nancy Gold, Elizabeth Romere and husband Brian, Heather Goodman; great grandchildren, Drew Gold, Devin Gold, Dale Gold, Shelby Romere, Luke Romere, Taylor Romere, Nathan Goodman, Jessica Goodman; sister-in-law Julia Kolniak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Notini as honorary pallbearers are Harvey Gold, David Gold, Michael Gold, Jerry Kolniak, Brian Romere, and Luke Romere.
The family wishes to thank her doctors and nurses at Willis-Knighton Pierremont and her caregivers at The Glen who made the past year much more enjoyable amidst the pandemic.
Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday May 4, 2021 at St. Mary of the Pine Catholic Church in Shreveport. Father John Paul Crispin will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Friends may visit, Monday, May 3, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel.
