Services for Ernest Cortez III will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Steven Laughin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday March 16, 2026, at Rose Neath Funeral Home

Ernest was born June 29, 1955, in Metairie, Louisiana and entered into rest March 13, 2026, in Dubberly, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Beulah Cortez, brothers, Richard and Lane Foster, and great-grandson, Benjamin Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy Cortez of Dubberly, son Evan Cortez (Sarah) of Missouri, daughters, Emma Meehan (Patrick) of Missouri, Charmaine Furman (Sean) of Missouri, and Caitlyn Cortez of Dubberly, brother, Stanley Foster (Ruth) Des Allemands, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and multiple nieces and nephews.
