A graveside service for Ernest Lee Alewine, will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana.
Ernest Lee Alewine, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was born on March 21, 1941, in Gumlog, Arkansas. He resided in Dover, Arkansas, for 81 years before moving to Benton, Louisiana.
Lee was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. Due to his love for anything with wheels, he owned and operated Lee’s Body Shop for over 40 years.
Upon retirement, unable to sit still with idle hands, Lee turned his attention and talent to woodworking, creating everything from cutting boards to full sets of furniture. He gifted family, friends, and complete strangers (like the plumber who fixed the faucet) with the fruits of his labor, whether they wanted it or not. He cherished God, country, and family, loving and giving.
Lee is survived by his wife, Anita Alewine; son, Richard Lee Alewine (Melinda) of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Richard Kipling Alewine of Dallas, TX, Brian Miller (Hilary) of Cheyenne, WY, and Kaylee Miller of Bossier City, LA; three great-grandchildren, Baylor Gray, Kennedy Miller, and Scotty Miller; brother-in-law, Lee Young of FT. Smith, AR, along with many nieces, nephews, and long-time friends and other family members who will cherish his memory.
