Emma was born September 20, 1951 in Jonesville, LA and went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2019. She was larger than life. She was sparkle and shine. She was a huge gut-busting laugh at the most inappropriate time! She found joy and happiness in the edges of sadness and sorrow. She was who she was, did and said what she felt. And she made no apologies for it.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, James Revis Gray; parents, Jack Dennis and Hazel B. Jackson; and sisters, Joyce McLain and Sharron Jackson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tonya Gray and Tanya Gray; grandchildren, Cheyenne Payne, Savannah Gray, Austin Steptoe, and Rebel Hudson; great-grandchildren, Haylan Payne and Easton Payne; sisters, Lois Boothe and husband Tillman, Opal J. Paul, and Syble Slatter and husband Rondel; and brothers, Jack Dennis Jackson, Jr. and Willie D. "Butch" Jackson.
Honoring Emma as pallbearers will be Rebel Hudson, Austin Steptoe, Chris Thomas, Cody Tipton, and Hunter Knowles.
