SHREVEPORT, LA - Elzie Arden \"E.A.\" Sandifer was born on December 4, 1920 in Marthaville, La. Mr. Sandifer answered Jesus\' call on October 3, 2016 after a brief illness.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Jennings Chapel Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5th at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
E.A. proudly served his country in the US Army and during his WWII service, he was awarded a Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. E.A. was retired from East Texas Motor Freight. He served over 50 years as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.
E.A. was preceded in death by his wives Eloise Sandifer of 43 years and Avis Sandifer of 29 years. He is survived by his brother Dewitt Talmadge Sandifer; son, Dennis Sandifer and wife Vicki; daughter, Sharon Harrington and husband Ronnie; 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and many others who have adopted him.
Honoring E.A. as pallbearers will be Ron Lee, Brett Crone, Keith Milstead, Dennis Sandifer, Roger Myre, and Austin Crone.
