HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Elvie Prince White, 92, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Homer, LA on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Pat Bates and Rev. R.B. Moore, officiating. Interment followed in Tulip Cemetery near Athens, LA. The family received friends at the church on Friday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Mrs. White was born October 13, 1923 in Homer, LA to Perry O. and Susie Martin Prince. She entered into rest on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Arcadia, LA. Mrs. White and her husband, Lawrence White, owned and operated L.W. White Grocery in Homer for many years. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church for 68 years. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence W. White; son, Larry White; grandson, Kevin White; sister, Marceil Harper; and four brothers, James Prince, Dub Prince, Pete Prince and Billy Bob Prince. She is survived by her daughter, Robin White of Homer; son, Eddie White and wife Emilie of Quitman, LA; daughter-in-law, Marinda White of Homer; two sisters, Ethel Killgore of Haynesville and Lucy Simons of Arcadia; brother, Olin Prince and wife Helen of Homer; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Shawn McMillan, Ted White, Jeff White, Tommy Garrett, Braden Dickson and Hunter Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Deal and Ben Tabor. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. White, her family suggests memorials be to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Homer.
