Elouise Tarpley Lewis

A graveside service was held for Mrs. Elouise Tarpley Lewis, age 93, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA, on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., Bro. Ron Johnson, officiated. 

 Elouise was born June 15, 1931, in Many, LA, to Chance C. and Mattie Acklen Tarpley. She entered into rest on September 9, 2024, in Homer, LA. As a teenager, she worked at Claiborne Drug Soda Fountain. Elouise graduated from Homer High School when there were only eleven grades. She met the love of her life, Ted Lewis and they married in 1953. She worked for Pauline’s Beauty Shop in Shreveport as a beautician for many years. Elouise attended Calvary Baptist Church in Homer, LA. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted Lewis; a sister, Jean Hutchins; and two brothers, Charles Tarpley and Jerry Tarpley.

 She is survived by her two sisters, Shirley Musgrove of Homer, LA, and Carolyn Akin of Haynesville, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 Elouise’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Salmon for the care and compassion shown her during her final years.

 In lieu of flowers honoring Elouise, her family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1993 Hwy 3062, Homer, LA 71040.
