Eloise Stephens, 87, of Grand Cane, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2021, in Round Rock, Texas. Eloise was born on December 23, 1933, in Converse, Louisiana to Tom Moore and Johnnie English Moore.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2021, at Pinecroft Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joe Waggoner with Rev. Chucky Clark assisting. Interment will be held at Cassel Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana.
Eloise Stephens was a member of Pinecroft Baptist church and First Baptist Church of Mansfield where she was the financial secretary for both for many years. She loved gardening, her family and especially cooking her world famous cornbread for everyone. She donated not only her time but her generosity went well beyond. She gave numerous donations to non-profit organizations, communities and individuals. She was loved by many, many people and will never be forgotten.
She is preceded by her parents, Tom and Johnnie Moore; husband, A.J. Stephens; three brothers and four sisters. Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Paul Stephens of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Craig Stephens and wife Alicia of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, JoAnn Rutledge and husband Tommy of Jonestown, TX; sister, Tommye Byford of Mansfield, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer Oldham and Micky of Dallas, TX, Kyle Rutledge and Cyrille of Leander, TX, Harrison Stephens and Sophia Stephens of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Max and Marley Oldham and Maddie and Alex Rutledge.
Honoring Eloise as pallbearers will be Kyle Rutledge, Harrison Stephens, Micky Oldham, Preston Blow, Jerry Stephens and Count Pickney. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Murray and Buddy Puckett.
