Elmore Mitchell "Mac" Magee, Jr.

A graveside service for Elmore Mitchell "Mac" Magee, Jr., 90, will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Calvin Hubbard, Pastor Joshua Powell and Pastor Joe Clements. Mac was born April 12, 1931 in Bradley, Arkansas to Elmore Mitchell Magee, Sr. and Tennie Goad Magee and went home to his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mac was retired from the US Army after 24 years of service. After retirement he worked for Frymaster for nine years, and then for American General Financial where he was a manager for 13 years. Mac was a member of the Bossier City Gideon Camp. He was the past president and worked in many other areas in the Gideons. He had a passion for speaking for the Gideons and telling how they were spreading the story of Jesus around the world. Mac is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 59 years, Clara "Betty" Brown Magee; sons-in-law, Chuck McBee and Doyle Smith; brother, James Magee; sisters, May Merrill, Edith Jackson, Kansas Keahey, Alice Cribbs, and Lois Morris. He is survived by children, Cynthia Smith, Rhonda McBee, Barbara Powell and husband, Ronnie, Elmore "Trey" Mitchell Magee III and wife, Michelle; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandson, and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Barksdale Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials may be made to The Gideons International, Bossier Camp, P.O. Box 5154, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Abdehou and the staff of Montclair Parc Assisted Living for the loving care of our dad.
