Elizabeth Ann Laird Morgan

Elizabeth Ann Laird Morgan, 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away in the early morning of May 26, 2025. She was born on November 22, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the parents of George Earl and Louise Middlebrook Laird.

Memorial services honoring the life of Elizabeth will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Road, Keithville, LA 71047, where she attended regularly for many years. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Wilcutt.

Elizabeth was a fiercely independent woman, living on her own and still working three days a week answering the switchboards at Willis-Knighton South. She made all the time in the world for her three grandchildren usually picking up the youngest Jimmy from school on Tuesdays, making sure he was fed and happily carting him off to a ball game if necessary. She loved taking extended vacations to Maryland to visit her youngest son and his two children Grayson and A.J. When at home there was never an idle moment as she spent her time tending her vast assortment of plants and visiting with her neighbors. She never met a stranger and filled everyone who knew her with love and joy. She was happiest starting the morning with her coca cola sitting on her patio and taking in the beauty of the world. Always strong in her faith with the Lord we know without a doubt she sits in a special place in Heaven.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, George Earl and Louise; her brother, Billy Earl Laird; as well as her husband, Paul Morgan to whom she donated a kidney in 1995.

She is survived by her brother, James Glenn Laird, his wife Rhonda, and their daughters, Laura and Suzanne and their families; her oldest son, James Michael Willis, Jr., his wife Ruth, and son Jimmy; her youngest son, Christopher Bryan Willis, Anne Janik Willis and their children, Grayson and A.J.; as well as her daughter, Pam Morgan and her children Tyler, Caleb, Nick, and Knox.

The family would like to express our extreme gratitude for the comfort and care the staff of the Stepdown Ward at Willis-Knighton North provided in her last days.

In memory of Elizabeth, the family suggests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana.
