Elizabeth Ann Mills Byram passed from this life September 30, 2024, into the joy of Heaven. Born in Shreveport on January 30, 1938, to Edward Mills and Bessie Baker Mills. Ann lived a full life. After graduating from Ayers Business School, she worked at several local businesses as a bookkeeper. Ann and her husband Phil then opened several television repair shops in Shreveport where she ran the offices. Ann received her Real Estate license in the late nineties. She and Phil then opened and ran a fishing resort on the White River in Arkansas until their retirement. She enjoyed traveling with the love of her life, Phil Byram, playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, crafting, quietly serving the Lord through serving others, trips with friends and girl trips with her daughters.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Phillip R. Byram, parents, Edward and Bessie Mills, brothers, Ed and William Mills, and sister Helen Mills.
Ann is survived by her brother, James Mills of Lubbock, TX, daughters, Denese Hammon and husband David of Pinehurst, TX, Debbie Perkins and husband Randy of Karnack, TX, and Donna George and husband Steve of El Dorado, AR, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge our Mom’s other family at the West Lake Baptist Church in Doyline. LA. The love and care they gave to her in the years after our Dad passed, can only come through the love of Christ.
We would like to thank Dr. Maxwell McDonald and the staff at the Willis Knighton Cancer Center. We also want to acknowledge the staff of Bristol Hospice of Minden for their compassionate help in Mom’s last days. Special heartfelt “Thank You” to Mom’s hospice R.N., B.J.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the West Lake Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Women’s Ministry Fund.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at West Lake Baptist Church in Doyline, LA with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at West Lake Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.
