Elizabeth “Betty” Irene Spohrer Morton

Elizabeth “Betty” Irene Spohrer Morton, 77, was born on December 5, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Paul and Freddie Spohrer and passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Stonewall, Louisiana.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at St. Ann's Catholic Church Hall in Stonewall, Louisiana. A visitation will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. continuing until the start of the service at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Franklin. An inurnment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Many, Louisiana where a meal will be provided afterwards in the St. John the Baptist Church Hall.

Betty married Thomas William Morton in 1967 and was a graduate of LSUS with a Bachelors in Business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Melissa Irene Morton, Thomas Fordham Morton and wife, Shannon, and Joseph Michael Morton and wife, Maureen; grandchildren, Elizabeth Morton, Chad Rhea and wife, Brittany, Anna Adamson and husband, Tyler, Sara Morton, Jacob Morton and wife, Lacee, and Brian Morton; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Pendleton; brother, Paul Patrick Spohrer, Jr. and wife, Ruby; special aunt, Jean Rains; and special friend, Leo Springer.
