"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well." - Psalm 139:14
Funeral services for Elijah Scott Taylor "Eli", 2 years old, will be held on Friday January 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at Fellowship Community Church, 135 Meadow Drive, Gloster, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Gloster Trinity Cemetery for close family and friends. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. prior to service for the community.
Eli was born on June 9th, 2023, to Shane and Christine Taylor in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Tuesday January 20th, 2026, at 2pm in Shreveport, Louisiana. What do you say in the obituary of a 2-year-old, in such a short life you would think there is not much to say, but there is so much to say. He touched more lives in his two and a half years than most of us have during our own lives. I'll say this, he loves Jesus, his family, Mickey Mouse, school, singing and snacks. He brought a joy to our lives much like Jesus does. A light that shined bright for all to see. He made his presence known in a room and boy is he still doing it now. His life was a testimony of the faithfulness of our God and savior Jesus Christ.
Eli is survived by so many that will keep his testimony going. Mother and father, Shane and Christine Taylor of Longstreet, LA. Brothers, William Taylor and Thomas Taylor of Longstreet, LA. Great Grandmother Patricia Taylor of Shiloh, LA, Grandparents, Mike and Kim Taylor of Longstreet, LA, Mark Owens of Joaquin, TX, Donald and Judy Monroe of Center, TX. Aunts and Uncles, Eric and Anna Talley of Keatchie, LA, Amber Owens and Brandon Johnson of Austin, Texas, Reese Monroe of Seabrook, TX. Numerous Great Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
Honoring Eli will be pallbearers Eric Talley, Reese Monroe, Garrett Burford, and Jack Burford.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support for Eli throughout our community, as well as the millions praying around the world. We bELIeve his life touched many and created a movement bringing others to Christ. We will keep that movement going.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a non-profit account named "Eli's Light" at Community Bank in Gloster. 318-933-5276.
