Rev. Eli "Skip" Fleming Noble, Jr. passed on to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 5, 2020, in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 77, due to complications with COVID. Rev. Noble is survived by his wife, Sharon J. Noble; children, Joshua Noble (Jennifer) of Los Angeles, Seth Noble (Sarah) of Baton Rouge, Christina Noble, Todd Jackson (Patti) of Shreveport, Charles Jackson (Lisa) of Springfield, MO and Heather Mills (Joel) of Dallas; grandchildren Jack, Mary Cathryn, Landon, Lawson, Harleigh, Ellory, and Mairyn; sisters, Betty Noble and Kim Ratliff, (Quintin); and his uncle Herbert Davis (Ruth); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Kay Noble; his parents Eli Fleming Noble, Jr. and Bonnie Belle Davis Noble; and his brother, Glen Keith Skip was born on May 29, 1943, in Baton Rouge, LA to Eli and Bonnie Noble. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Agricultural Business before going on to gain his Masters of Religious Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He married Rita Kay Roberson (deceased) in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on March 16, 1974. After her passing, Skip remarried Sharon Jackson in Shreveport, LA on June 26, 2004. Between them they have 6 children and shared a great love for 7 their grandchildren. Skip had a great passion for leading collegiate students in a growing relationship with Christ. He served in the Baptist Student Union from 1971-2005 in Mississippi ('71-'79), Ohio ('79-'80), and in his longest serving role in Shreveport-Bossier, LA ('80-'05). He worked as a hospice chaplain with Agape for about 6 years before going on to serve as pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Skip had a passion for caring for his congregation, fishing, travel, LSU, and his family. A small, socially-distanced visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 5-8pm and Wednesday, November 11 from 10-11am at Rose-Neath Shreveport Southside. A graveside socially-distanced service is scheduled for 11:45am on Wednesday, November 11 at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. The graveside service will be livestreamed virtually on Facebook Live. He will be assisted by Rev. Tim Robinson. Pallbearers will be Bobby Covington, Amador Santos, Charles Jackson, Todd Jackson, Landon Jackson, and Lawson Jackson. Honorary pallbearers include Jack Schwartz, Quinton Ratliff, John Moore, Lynn Hawkins, Bill Collins, and Louisiana BSU/BCM Directors.
