Eldred Ford Lowe, Jr. (Eddie) passed from this earthly life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the age of 76 from dementia. He was born on October 26, 1945 in Minden, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldred Ford Lowe, Sr. and Clara Defreese Lowe, his brother Perry Lowe and Perry's wife, Joy. He is survived by sisters Linda Lowe Wilson and husband Eddie, Myra Lowe Turnage, and husband Bill, and many nieces and nephews. Eddie leaves behind his wife Pam Krouse Lowe, children, Lori Lowe Branch and husband Kyle, Rachel Butcher Hale and husband Chase, and Jamin Butcher, along with seven darling grandchildren, Cade, Callie, and Cooper Branch, Chanler, Raylee, and Asher Hale, and Laila Butcher. Eddie was a man of many pursuits. He was a life-long resident of Minden, Louisiana and graduated from Minden High School, Class of 1963. He attended college at Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Vocational-Technical College, and Northwestern State University, where he received a Masters degree. He taught Science and Industrial Arts at Cotton Valley and Springhill High Schools, and Webster Junior High, and Drafting and Computer Aided Drafting at Louisiana Vocational-Technical College. After his retirement, he had his own Drafting & Design business, where he drew plans for over 400 houses and buildings in the Ark-La-Tex. Eddie didn't read music but could play by ear and taught himself acoustic guitar and fiddle. He was a "do it yourself" man and excellent carpenter. He loved exploring God's creation and traveling the country, taking hundreds of pictures along the way. Vacations were built around the outdoors, fiddle competitions, and canoeing trips to many rivers. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 36 years where he was a greeter, actively involved in his Sunday School class, and taught RA's. He lived his life to the fullest and never turned down someone in need. He designed the bell in downtown Minden, drew maps for Forestry brochures, made signs at Caney Lake, designed countless programs, bulletins, etc. for many people, planned class reunions, showcased his cooking skills at community events, and so much more. His celebration of life will be on Wednesday, May 4th at 2 pm at Minden First Baptist Church's sanctuary. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3 from 5-7 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Minden. Pallbearers are Jamin Butcher, Chase Hale, Kyle Branch, Chad Wilson, Cory Wilson, Bill Collins, and Chip Lowe. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Grubbs, Ted Riser, Charles Waters, and Travis Stewart. Devoted husband, Daddy, Papa, teacher, friend, and lover of adventure, he will be missed by all those that he touched.
