Jarrell was born November 6, 1930, in Homer, LA, to Edgar and Estelle Pixley Prince. He entered into rest on Sunday, March 5, 2023, in Shreveport, LA. Jarrell served the country he loved during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life in 1957, Hazel Belle Calvit Prince.  He loved gardening and sharing the vegetables he raised. Jarrell enjoyed riding through the neighborhood scoping out the squirrels. He also loved fishing and playing Phase 10 with Mamaw and the grandchildren. Jarrell retired from Bell South after 33 years and volunteered at the Presbyterian Village as a handyman. He and his band the "Duflops," played music at surrounding nursing homes and he played the harmonica.  He served the Lord he loved at the First United Pentecostal Church of Homer leading music, mowing grass, or anything that was needed, he did. Jarrell was always out and about looking for opportunities to help or serve others, but if you accepted his help it was going to be done his way. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel Belle Calvit Prince; two son, Tommy Dean and Randy Dean; two grandsons, Bruce Dean and Kenny Dean; daughter-in-law, Deborah Prince; and six siblings.

Jarrell is survived by his son, Eddie Prince of Heflin; seven grandchildren, Michael Prince, Meg Prince (Aubrey), Dustin Prince (Suzi), Kalob Prince (Autumn), Natalie Dean, Sean Dean (Marie), Tina Dean McKissick and husband Richard; fourteen great- grandchildren; fourteen great, great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Northwest LA War Veteran’s Home of Bossier City for their care and compassion shown Jarrell during his stay.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Prince, Kolton Pace, Ayden Klick, Doug Shurling, Elijah Gorman, and Mitchell Person.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Dean, Michael Prince, Sean Dean, and Kalob Prince.
