A Celebration of Life for Effie "Ann" Jackson Wren will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Hills Church of Christ, 9080 Southwood Dr., Shreveport, LA 71118.
Ann was born in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, on November 14, 1938 to Ed and Martha Jackson and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022. She is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
Ann was a member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ and had a servant's heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.
Ann was married to Ralph Waymon Wren for 64 years as of March 31, 2022. During those years, Ann spoiled Waymon, however, since August 2021, Waymon has lovingly taken care of Ann. She worked at AT&T, South Central Bell and Southern Bell for many years, serving as a Supervisor most of those years. She enjoyed cooking, had the gift of hospitality and loved to play cards, IF she won!
Waymon and Ann were part of the "Sojourners," a group of Christians who drove their motorhomes around the country to help churches.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, and great-niece, Gigi. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Waymon Wren; son, Ralph Wren and wife, Annette; one granddaughter, Krystal; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and two brothers, Kenneth Jackson and Eddie Jackson. Ann had two "favorite" nieces, Patsy Kitchens and husband, Jerry, and Laurette Tingle and husband, Jackie and "favorite" nephew, Trey Jackson and wife, Jennifer and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Southern Hills Church of Christ, 9080 Southwood Dr., Shreveport, LA 71118 or the Memorial Fund at Rainbow Omega, 100 Hope Dr., Eastaboga, AL 36260.
