Funeral services were held for Mr. Edward “Eddie” A. Simpson, age 87, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5^th Street, Homer, LA, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ray Anderson, officiated. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA. Visitation was held at the funeral home from noon-2 p.m., prior to the service.

Eddie was born November 22, 1936, in Coushatta, LA, to Clovis B. and Nora E. Allen Simpson. He entered into rest on February 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in Homer, LA. Eddie served the country he loved in the National Guard. He received a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics at LA Tech. Eddie owned Hinton Well Service with his father and brother. In addition, he owned Homer Livestock, Simpson Well Service and D&S Oil and Gas. Then, he retired and continued his hobby of working on the farm. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Glen Simpson, and grandson, Connor Glen Simpson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Ann Braswell Simpson; three sons, Bruce Edward Simpson and wife Cherie of El Dorado, AR, Brett Allen Simpson and wife Jennifer of Homer, LA, and Bradley Glen Simpson and wife Stefanie of Ruston, LA; sister-in-law, Bonnie Sue Phillips Simpson; seven grandchildren, Morgan Hollingsworth and husband Logan, Chaise Simpson, Kameron Boudreaux and husband Caleb, Kaitlyn Barrantes and husband Manuel, Kelcey Carr and husband Jamie, Taylor Billeaud and husband Griffin and Broc Simpson; twelve great-grandchildren; and nieces,  other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Logan Hollingsworth, Caleb Boudeaux, Jamie Carr, Manuel Barrantes, Griffin Billeaud, and Broc Simpson.

In lieu of flowers honoring Eddie, his family suggests memorials be made to Church of Christ of Homer, LA, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
