Edward Luteen Rooker, Jr.

Edward Luteen Rooker was born on March 11, 1955, in Hammond, Indiana. He passed away on September 15, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will forever be cherished.

Edward proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a distinction that remained an important part of his life and legacy. Following his military service, Edward dedicated many years to his career with General Motors, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. His strong work ethic, commitment, and dedication were qualities he carried throughout his life.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia; his father, Ed Senior; his stepfather, Frank; and his sister, Christine Rooker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia Rooker; his two sons, John Rooker and Jeff Rooker; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Rooker, wife of Jeff; and his stepchildren, Stephanie (Casey) Jones, Johnathan Grigsby, and Desiree (Brandon) Dowdy.

He is also survived by his brothers, Brian Rooker, Tim Rooker, and Scott Rooker. 

Edward was a beloved grandfather to Cyrill Rooker, McKenzie Rooker, Maddox Rooker, Malachi Rooker, Johnathan (Kendra) Grigsby Jr., Madisyn Grigsby, Hayden (Roman) Sottovia, Dylan Lally, and Brandon Dowdy. 

His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Eleanor, Johnathan Grigsby III, and Westyn Lang.

Edward's life will be remembered through the family he loved, the memories they shared, and the legacy he leaves behind. His service to his country, his 30 years of dedicated service to General Motors, his devotion to his family, and the place he held in the hearts of those who loved him will never be forgotten.
