Edward "Eddie" Melton Callender

Funeral services for Mr. Edward "Eddie" Melton Callender will be held at 10:00 am., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Rev. Toby Shaw officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation at the chapel on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. Edward was born on January 7, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Purvis and Eva Callender. He entered into rest on December 17, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Callender; brothers, Roger Callender and Dennis Callender and sister, Sandy Lee. Edward is survived by his son, Mark Edward Callender of Grand Cane, LA; daughter, Cheryl Callender Matthews and husband John of Tyler, TX; brothers, Neil Callender and wife Nancy of Mansfield, LA and Larry Callender and wife Dixie of Mansfield, LA; grandchildren, Leigh Callender, Audra Callender, Aaron Matthews, Ashley Matthews, Kaylan Matthews, and six great-grandchildren. Serving Mr. Callender as pallbearers will be Leigh Callender, Kevin Callender, Aaron Matthews, Casey Callender, D.J. LaFleur and Michael Lee. Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Callender.
