Edna Saralene Richey Touchton

“Momma” was born November 25, 1940, in Pelican, Louisiana, to Marion and Velmer Dee Richey. She graduated from Pelican High School in 1958, married and had three children who were her world. She attended the technical school in Many, Louisiana, for business skills. She worked hard for 30 years in the retail business before going to Mansfield Technical College to become a C.N.A. Her life was not an easy one but with help and the grace of God, she persevered. She was proud of her heritage and maintained that work ethic for her offspring to follow. The most important things in her life were her faith and her family. She enjoyed farm life, working in the yard, growing flowers, and watching her cows grow.

“Momma” passed peacefully from this life to her eternal home in Heaven where we are sure she was greeted by her parents and siblings on July 16, 2026, at Christus Highland Hospital/Grace Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters - Doris, Ruby, Maggie, Mallie, Verna, Carrie Dee, Barbara, and Patricia - as well as her brothers Vernard and Charles.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Henry (Tammy), Evangeline, and Arthur (Debra); grandchildren, Sarah Jean (Matt) Ruiloba, Johnny (Lacey) Mustin, Randy Touchton, Mark Allen (Shelly) Touchton, and William (Brittany)Touchton; great grandchildren, Colin (Angelina), Kenly, Mikayla, David, Nick, Cy, Tuck, Levi, Madilynn, Annistyn, Jace, Weston, Cap, Emberlyn, and Beau (due in August).

Visitation will be Friday evening, July 17, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Roseneath Chapel in Mansfield, LA.

Funeral service will follow Saturday, July 18, at 10:00 am at Roseneath Chapel in Mansfield, LA.

Burial will be at Pelican Cemetery, Pelican, Louisiana

Officiating will be Bro. Matt Ruiloba with Donnie Averitt assisting.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Christus Highland Hospital/Grace Home for their care and compassion for “Momma.”
