Edna Lillian Brown

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Edna Lillian Andrews Brown, of Summerfield, La., will be held at the Summerfield Cemetery on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.,under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home, Homer, La., with Pastor Tony Vinson officiating.

Edna was born on December 1, 1929, to parents Cleonise and Ruby Scriber Andrews, and passed away on Wednesday, July 22, in West Monroe, La.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her work as Postmaster in Summerfield for 26 years helping many with their money orders, stamps, and packages.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Malcom of 65 years, her son Ronald Keith, who was always Skipper to her; her parents, her sister Mary Lee Sanderson, and a brother C.W. Andrews.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Gayle Singletary and husband Tom; daughter-in-law Jane Brown-Boyett and husband Kent, Grandchildren: Todd Singletary (Amber), Jan Tooke (Landon), Chrisanna Saums (Robert) and Averie Brown (Adam); Great grandchildren: Christian, Emily, Jack, Walt, Andrew, Ross, Rhett and Braden; sister Evelyn Tipperr and brother Jerry Andrews (Pat); and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at StoneyBrook Senior Care in West Monroe for their loving care of “Ms. Edna” and “Gammaw” for 4 years. Also, A C G Hospice for their care and support these last few months.
