Edna Ferrell

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Gormley Ferrell will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, with Bro. Stephen Beard officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Arcadia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Edna was born on November 10, 1949, in Gainesville, Texas, to James and Dorothy Webb Gormley. She entered into rest on Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home in Arcadia, with her loving daughters and sister by her side.

Edna was a loving, and giving person to all that knew her. She was a wonderful cook but was an exceptional baker. There were not many people around that hasn’t had one of her cakes. She enjoyed playing games, either cards, board games, or dominos. Edna also loved cats. But she really loved her family and loved taking care of them. Edna was more than just a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she was also a friend and companion.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Gormley, husband Carl Wayne Ferrell, daughter Susan Ferrell, sister Carol Sue Poling, infant brother Michael Ray Gormley, son-in-law Brandon Christlieb, brother-in-law Ed Ferrell, and sister-in-law Wandal Wright.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Valeria Ferrell, and Kem Ferrell and husband Jason Batten, grandchildren Kaden Christlieb, Tristan Christlieb, Kaytlin Christlieb, Kristen Batten, and Deane Batten, sister Knowleta Irwin, sisters-in-law Diane Ferrell and Mary Stewart, brother-in-law R.D. Barber, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Honoring Edna as pallbearers will be Jason Batten, Kaden Christlieb, Deane Batten, Jason Anderson, Walter Johnson, and Jeason Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Corbin.
