Coushatta, LA – A graveside service celebrating the life of Edith Jeter Jackson Diaz, 97, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 5, 2022, at Springville Cemetery in Coushatta, LA, with Dr. Matt Endris officiating assisted by Dr. J. Cardinell and Caleb Willis. A short visitation will begin at 9:30 AM before service time at the cemetery. The services are under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Edith was born on October 28, 1924, in Richmond, VA to Dorsey Olander and Irene Thelma Tuck Jeter and passed away July 31, 2022, in Natchitoches, LA.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Johnnie M. Jackson and Sterling C. Diaz; daughter, Brenda Jackson Cox and granddaughter, Ashlie Cox Gamble. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Kay J. Easley (Cecil F. “Frank”) of Coushatta, LA; grandchildren, Willis “Trey” Cox, III (Ginger) of DeVille, LA and Justin R. McKnight (Angie) of Coushatta, LA; great-grandchildren, Abigail LeBlanc (Brandon) of Belle Chasse, LA, Ashton Paxton (Brenna) of Belle Chasse, LA, MacKenzie Cox of Alexandria, LA, Justin McKnight, Jr. of Coushatta, LA, and Jackson McKnight of Coushatta, LA; great-great-grandchildren, Landon LeBlanc, Ashlie LeBlanc, and Alaina Faye LeBlanc; brother, Arzie Jeter (Helen) of Richmond, VA; and sisters, Dorothy J. Crowe of Virginia Beach, VA and Bernice J. Wells of Richmond, VA.
Honoring Edith as pallbearers will be Willis E. “Trey” Cox, III, Justin R. McKnight, Ashton Paxton, Brandon LeBlanc, Landon LeBlanc, Justin McKnight, Jr., and Jackson McKnight. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Freeman, Cecil F. “Frank” Easley, Jr., and John Jackson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches, The Courtyard of NRMC, Kindred At Home, Specialty Rehabilitation Hospital of Coushatta, Dr. Michelle Mayeux, Dr. Martin Carter and Ms. Margaret Whatley.
