Eddie "EJ" Mikesell

A memorial service for Eddie Joe Mikesell, 76, will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Matt Comer. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date in Keithville, Louisiana. EJ was born on June 1, 1944 to Forrest Lee Mikesell and Gleda Mikesell in Connersville, Indiana and passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Carthage, Texas. EJ was a resident of Carthage and worked in Customer Service for Delta Airlines. He loved fishing, LSU and baseball. Most of all he enjoyed time with family and friends. He was always up for a cup of coffee and telling a great story. EJ is preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Sandra Mikesell; and brother-in-law, Charles Isaacs. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, William "Bill" Mikesell and wife Bonnie Mikesell, Trevor Mikesell and wife, Stephne Mikesell, and Charles Mikesell and wife, Leah Mikesell; sister, Kay Jackson and husband Stonewall Jackson; brother, Jim Mikesell and wife, Velvet Mikesell; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Honoring EJ as pallbearers will be Ethan Mikesell, Zeke Mikesell, John Fatherree, Max Sharp, Mike Worm, Keith Williams, Jerry Moore, Shannon Wall and Ken Bush. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project.
