Earl Wayne Sandifer
KEITHVILLE, LA - A Service Celebrating the life of Earl Wayne Sandifer, 70, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Old Pisgah Baptist Church, 15192 Hwy 120, Marthaville, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Dean Johnson. Interment will follow at Old Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Earl was born November 16, 1947, in Springhill, LA to Imogene Wyatt Sandifer and Clyde Osborn Sandifer and passed away October 3, 2018, in Shreveport, LA. He retired from Texas Utilities as a diesel mechanic. Earl loved working with children. After retirement, he worked with children at Johnny Gray Jones in Bossier for several years. He enjoyed sitting around telling stories and joking with family and friends. "Papow" as they knew him, enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren, Anna Grace and Christian.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is daughter Kim Stier and husband Brian of Bossier City, LA; brothers, Billy Sandifer and wife Pat of Weldon, LA, Johnny Sandifer and wife Cheryl of Shreveport, LA and Jerry Sandifer and wife Virginia of Keithville, LA and Jimmy Sandifer and Rick Avery of Sherwood, AR; grandchildren, Anna Grace and Christian Stier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Dr. Robert Martin for his love and support while taking care of Dad over the last several years. Also our sincere appreciation to Highland Hospital ICU nurses and staff for their tender care during his final days.
Honoring Earl as pallbearers will be Brad Sandifer, Gary Sandifer, J. W. Johnston, Ronnie Cummings, Drake Averitt, and Mike Goings. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Callens and Bro. Dean Johnson.
