Earl Kirk Prince, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born on January 19, 1940, in Blue Jay, West Virginia, to Mary and Eddie Prince.
Kirk worked for many years with Roadway Express, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. In his free time, he enjoyed old country music, fishing and camping at Lake O’ the Pines, waterskiing, and traveling the country with his beloved wife. Above all else, Kirk was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Fred Patrick Barnette; his parents, Mary and Eddie Prince; and his aunt and uncle, Lodie and Charles Rollyson.
Kirk is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Billye Leeper Prince; his daughter, Becky Wesson and husband James; grandchildren, Cara Kemp, Jacob Seth Taylor, and Erin Taylor Wagner and husband Chad; great-grandchildren, Crystalyn Kemp, Johnathan Slaton, Zachary Taylor, Jolee Kemp, Ty Wagnor, Taylor Wagnor, and Austyn Wagner; his sister, Becky Gilkerson; and his cousin, Polly Rollyson.
Kirk will be remembered for his kind heart, love of the outdoors, and unwavering devotion to his family. He had a strong faith in God and is now in heaven, reunited with loved ones who went before him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
