Earl Anthony Landry, Jr., 68, passed away in Shreveport, LA on Friday, January 15, 2021 after a brief illness. A visitation with family and friends for a celebration of his life will be held at Rose-Neath South on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Earl was born in Shreveport, LA on December 31, 1952 to Earl A. Landry, Sr. and Trudie "Diddy" Dunham Landry.
He graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport in 1970 and married his high school sweetheart, Dot Comans Landry in 1972. He was an electronics technician and operated his own business, Pro Electronics, for many years. At the time of his death, he was employed as a Bench Technician at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, LA. He enjoyed many hobbies such as model railroading, wood carving and wine-making. He cultivated his own muscadine grapes and took pride in his homemade wine. He also loved country western dancing and was a dance instructor along with his wife for many years. They made many life-long friends teaching and competing.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of almost 49 years, Dot Landry and their three children; Earl Landry, III (Trey) and wife, Jennifer, Christi Henderson and husband, Joey, Shelly Bell and husband, Rob. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Chase Raines and wife, Erin, Christian Raines, Chandler Raines, Hunter Hand, Caroline Landry, Collin Bell and Hayden Bell. He was extremely proud of all his children and grandchildren and considered them his most important life accomplishment.
He is also survived by a sister, Toni Landry Bratlie and her husband, Peter M. Bratlie; nephews, Jason, Luke and Paul Bratlie and their wives. He will also be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Carolyn Comans; his in-laws, Kathy Nidey and husband, Timothy, Wanda Ricketts and husband, Bill, Jim Comans and wife, Beth Ann; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Ezekiel Lafay Comans, and his two grandchildren; Dustin Tyler Raines and Dustin Robert Bell.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Shriners Children Hospital or St. Jude Hospital for Children or the charity of the donor's choice.
