Dwight Edward Bradshaw, 70, a resident of Haughton, Louisiana, with roots deep in the pine and soil, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and spirited passions.
Dwight was born on October 23, 1954, to John Lewis Bradshaw and Willie Gray Bradshaw in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. He graduated from Haughton High School and spent his working years in the timber industry, first with Beaty Logging, then Allstate Land & Timber. He knew the land like the back of his hand, how to read it, how to work it, and put in the kind of honest labor that spoke louder than words. Welding was another skill he carried with pride: if it needed fixing or forging, Dwight found a way.
Away from work, you would find him in the garden; he had a gift with plants, plain and simple. He was a phenomenal gardener, the kind who could coax beauty from stubborn soil. He loved fishing, hunting, and quiet time outdoors. But nothing stirred him like NASCAR. When Dale Earnhardt hit the track, Dwight was glued to the screen, heart racing like the engines he admired.
Dwight lived with quiet pride, honest purpose, and a spark of passion that made him unforgettable. He leaves behind the imprint of a life well-lived, rooted in authenticity and remembered with love.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis Bradshaw and Willie Gray Bradshaw. He is survived by a son, Seth Bradshaw; brother, John D. Bradshaw; sisters, Dawn Fletcher, Sherrie Jones, Rita Willett, and Tana Hamilton. He is also survived by his sweet granddaughter, Ellie Bradshaw.
