Dustin was born on April 3, 1989 to Brian Joseph Riley and Cheryl Ann Cocherell in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 in Kilgore, Texas.

Dustin was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a successful and very seasoned oilfield professional. Dustin broke into the oil “Patch” as he would call it at an early age and excelled quickly, working all over Louisiana and Texas chasing the “Patch”. He shared his skills and enjoyed teaching the younger generation all that he knew.

Sharing his knowledge of the oilfield was just the tip of Dustin’s helpful nature. It didn’t matter what you were doing, if Dustin walked in and you were doing something he was going to help no matter what.

Aside from his professional endeavors, Dustin found great joy in football. He collected football cards, and his favorite football team was the LSU Tigers. Dustin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the great outdoors and he lived for hunting with his dad and brother Hunter on a childhood lease. The outdoors was Dustin’s solace, it’s what fed his soul. He also really loved music.

To know Dustin was to love Dustin. He loved whole-heartedly and would give the shirt from his back. He would help anyone he could who was in need. He loved his family dearly, especially the children of the family such as his nieces and nephews. Beloved Dad and uncle, kids loved and flocked to Dustin. His daughter Raegan was his pride and joy. His fun-loving nature will be missed.

Dustin was quite the jokester, making any room light up with his presence. His child-like smile and laugh kept you wondering what he was up to. He will always be remembered for his kind, gentle and giving spirit. He will surely be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Dustin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Riley (Pops); great-grandmother, Salley Gray (Nana) and many other extended family members. He is survived by his father, Brian Riley, and fiancé, Christi; mother, Cheryl Riley Dyess and husband, Greg; daughter, Raegan Riley; brother, Hunter Riley and wife Sydney and brother, Johnathan Creech; grandmother, Diane Riley; grandparents, Jackie and Ann Curtis; niece, Jaycee Riley; nephews, Rhett Riley, Ridge Riley and Jrake Creech.
