A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Rd., Benton, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Father Pike Thomas.
Dr. John Camile Miciotto was born on November 8th, 1931, to Joe and Bridget Miciotto.
He graduated from St. John's High School in 1949. He attended college at Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with a BS in Biology in 1953. He then went on to medical school and graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1957. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1961 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
J.C. served in the United States Army and was the chief OBGYN resident at Fort McPherson, Georgia, from 1961 to 1963. He then went into private practice in Bossier City for 30 years, where he proudly delivered over 17,000 babies during his career. After retirement, he went back to work for 12 years with the Louisiana Department of Public Health, where he served as the Medical Director in Northwest Louisiana for 10 years. He served one term as president of the visiting staff. He was also a past member of the Visiting Staff at Willis Knighton Medical Center.
The Bossier City Chamber of Commerce created an award to honor an individual who, over his lifetime, has had a significant impact on the Northwest Louisiana healthcare industry, which is named the Dr. John Miciotto Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Bossier City and received the Bishop Charles P. Greco Humanitarian Award in 2009. He served on the Louisiana Judiciary Commission from 1999 to 2002 and was a member of the Willis Knighton Health System Board of Trustees.
J.C. is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Bridget Miciotto; his only sister, Nellie Miciotto; his brothers, Sammy, Joe, Tony, Andrew, and Gus Miciotto; son-in-law, David D. Clark; and grandson, Carey A. Clark.
He is survived by his wife, of 73 years, Rose Watts Miciotto; children, Mary Nell Clark, Cynthia M. Miciotto, DDS, John C. Miciotto, Jr., and Christopher J. Miciotto, MD (Katie MD); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Camille Jones (Tom), Caroline Cobb, DDS, Madeline, Brittney, Madison, and Matt Miciotto (Dakota); great-grandchildren, Annabelle Jones, Abbey Jones, Lily Jones, David Clark Rimmer, Kollins, and Kollyer Miciotto.
The family would like to especially thank his caregivers of the last eight years, Virginia Howard, Dorothy Kemp, Carol Capers, Kay Sandra Fuller, Gladys Walker, Carla Howard, and Doris Howard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, www.stjudebossier.org, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
J.C. deeply loved his family, good meals, and LSU football.
