Douglas Wayne McWaters

A private family graveside service for Douglas Wayne McWaters, 73, will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Joey Ketchum.

He was born on March 1, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to J.P. McWaters and Frances Moat McWaters and passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Douglas was a retired Bossier City fireman, former Bossier City Reserve police officer, member of the Sons of the American Legion, member of Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club, former member of the Krewe of Elders and a former umpire for the NY-Penn League minor baseball league.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Megan McWaters; sisters, Vickie Mathews and husband, Richard and Kathy Bobbit and husband, Bill and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
