Douglas Levi Harville

Douglas Levi Harville, 74, was born on November 4, 1948, to George and Lucille Harville in Leesville, Louisiana. Doug passed peacefully with his family by his side on June 23, 2023.

Doug is survived by his son, Lee Harville, and wife, Tanya Shelton-Harville; his grandson, Liam Harville; his siblings, Joy Smith and George Harville; and his wife, Paula Harville; and several nephews, nieces, and an extended family.

Doug served our country in the U. S. Air Force for over 17 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant E7 and received three commendations. During his time in the Air Force, Doug was able to travel to a number of different places including Minnesota, Vietnam, Turkey, Japan, Alaska, the Marshall Islands, Arizona, and finally back to Barksdale. Doug is very proud of the work he did for the Air Force and being able to retire from the armed forces.

Doug’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home, who gave Doug all the love and care he ever wanted and needed in a place that truly became his home. We would like to thank Bristol Hospice and their wonderful staff who helped Doug and his family in his final days.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, there will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Doug will be buried after a brief service at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd. in Keithville on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 12:30 p.m.
