Dorsey Dzielski Thibodeaux

A Memorial Service for Dorsey Dzielski Thibodeaux, 60, of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Calvary Chapel, 2115 Line Avenue Shreveport, Louisiana 71104, at 3:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Loren Wade Thibodeaux II.

Dorsey was born on September 25, 1962, in Morton Grove, Illinois to Thomas “Frank” and Eleanor Dzielski and passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Dorsey was a free-spirited, animal-loving, horse-obsessed, hardworking lady who enjoyed life, and deeply loved her family. She was full of life with an infectious smile. Dorsey was first introduced to the racehorses when her father started racing her Quarter horse in Westfield Wisconsin. From there Dorsey ventured out to Texas with her Quarter horse “Mitz Mitch America”. Her love for horses grew deeper when she started working at Arlington Park Racetrack. Working there led her to South Louisiana where she would eventually meet her husband Loren Thibodeaux and have two children Loren and Raven Thibodeaux. Dorsey finally made her dream come true when she became the proud co-owner of “Thibodeaux Racing Center” for rehabilitating racehorses. The compassion she had along with the drive and motivation to care for animals made her a strong role model for women working in a man’s world.

Dorsey was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Grady Newton, and Tomy Maroon; and her precious fur babies, Maggie, Zena, Mickey, and Zorro. She is survived by her husband, Loren Thibodeaux; son, Loren Thibodeaux II, and wife, Courtney; daughter, Raven Thibodeaux and wife, Hannah; grandchildren, Charlotte, Loren III, Amelie, and Addison; siblings, Joy Newton, Lisa Olson, and husband, Steve Olson, Lenora Hatfield and husband, Michael, and Kristi Maroon; and fur babies, Zara and Gator, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
