Dorothy Mae Davis, 94, entered into rest Friday, October 20, 2023 in Montgomery, TX after a lengthy illness. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel, Saturday October 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Larry Williams of Broadmoor Baptist Church will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the beginning of services on Saturday 28, 2023.

Dorothy was born on December 15, 1928 in Teague, TX to the late Billy Sneed and Annie Beatrice Cooper Willard. She was the only daughter of their five children that included James Alexander, Billie Leonard, Everett Vean, and Leslie Lavon. She was raised in and around Fairfield TX and loved being raised on a farm. On December 31, 1949, Dorothy married the love of her life, the late James Walter Davis, and was married for 54 wonderous years. Mrs. Davis was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where she was also the past group leader of the Priscilla Sunday School Class. Her biggest and proudest accomplishment was being the mother to five wonderful children. She was also a proud grandmother and great- grandmother to numerous grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was growing tomatoes and eating fried green tomatoes as often as she could. She lived life to the fullest and will always be remembered for the smile on her face, contagious laugh, and her love in her heart. Mrs. Davis was genuinely loved and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Davis was welcomed at Heaven’s Gate by her husband, parents, and siblings. She is survived by Walt and Connie Davis, Ken and Shannon Davis, Mike and Paula Davis, Terrie and Mike Steege, Janice Davis and Shiana Canatella as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Walt Davis, Mike Davis, Ken Davis, Clif Davis, James Abington, and Steve Fullilove.
