Dorothy Kay Lonadier

A graveside service for Dorothy Kay Lonadier, 77, will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana.

Dorothy was born on March 26, 1949, to Lawrence Lonadier and Dorothy Marie Jamison in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, and proudly called Bossier City her home for nearly her entire life. At the time of her passing, she was living in Flower Mound, Texas, with her sister, Mary Lonadier. Dorothy was a graduate of Bossier High School and later earned her degree from Northwestern State University.

Dorothy built an impressive career with Western Electric in Shreveport, Louisiana, working as a tool and die maker. She was a pioneer in her field, breaking barriers as one of the few women to hold that position. When Western Electric transitioned to AT&T, Dorothy continued her work and later relocated with the company to Omaha, Nebraska, where she eventually retired before returning home to Bossier City.

Dorothy was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on her LSU Tigers. Even though she had no children of her own, she embraced all her brothers’ and sisters’ children as if they were hers. She was the glue that held her family together, the one who showed up, the one who listened, and the one who made sure everyone stayed connected. Anytime someone needed her, Dorothy was there without hesitation.

She cherished her friends deeply and carried those relationships close to her heart. Her kindness, loyalty, and steady presence will be remembered forever.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Mary Lonadier; nieces, Lindsey Lonadier, Tina Marie Mitchell, Laurie Ann Mitchell, and Patricia Kahre; and her nephew, James Patrick Lonadier.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Lonadier; her mother, Dorothy Marie Lonadier; her sister, Frances Ann Mitchell; her brother, Lonnie P. Lonadier; and her nephew, Michael Rae Mitchell.

Dorothy’s legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
