Dorothy Faye Jester
Vivian, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Dorothy Faye Hindsman Jester, age 83 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Story, pastor of the McLeod United Pentecostal Church, McLeod, TX. Interment will follow at Good Exchange Cemetery in McLeod, TX. There will be a time of visitation on Friday, July 27th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jester was born in McLeod, TX on February 13, 1935 to Marcus Homes Hindsman and Alma Beatrice Scarbrough Hindsman and passed away on July 24, 2018 at Willis-Knighton North. She worked for Somerville Manufacturing Company in Vivian, La and for Guardline in Atlanta, TX. Mrs. Jester was hospitable to everyone who stopped by her house especially when she was drinking her morning coffee with her family and friends or if you just stopped by to say hello. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great -great grandchildren. One her greatest joys was being able to go fishing and snag her a big old white perch.
Mrs. Jester was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, Hershel Jester, her siblings and her son, Mitchell Jester. Those left to cherish her memories are daughter, Pam Walker of Vivian, LA; brother, Richard Hindsman of McLeod, TX; grandchildren, Angela McCoy and husband, Lonny of McLeod, TX, Jayme Slaton of Vivian, LA, Katie Chaves of Rodessa, LA, Joshua Jester and wife, Malana of McLeod, TX, and Stephanie Jester of Atlanta, TX. Mrs. Jester is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Jester as pallbearers will be Josh Jester, Harley Reed, Lonny McCoy, Jay Daniel Murphy, Benjamin Hindsman and Hugh Jester. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Houston and Josh Jousma.
