Dorothy Gilbert

A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Dorothy Lee Gilbert, 95, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, Louisiana. Burial will be at the Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. Dorothy was born on August 18, 1926, and entered into eternal rest, joining her beloved husband, on February 20, 2022, in Plano, Texas. Dorothy devoted her life to her family and serving the Lord. She loved to travel, read her bible, play Dominos and Rummikub and laugh with friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Gilbert, her son, George Gilbert, her daughter, Yvonne Hall, and sister, Jerry Beck. Left to cherish her memory includes her son Ronald Gilbert and his wife, Jerri Gilbert of Plano, Texas, her daughters, Evelyn Coleman, and her husband, Don, and Sherry Gilbert all of Shreveport, Louisiana, twelve lucky grandchildren, twenty-five wonderful great-grandchildren, and five spectacular great-great-grandchildren. Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Vaughn Hall, Nathan Gilbert, Chase Hall, Josh Gipson, Brian Quinn, and Christian Loveland.
