Dorothy Elaine Davidson

Dorothy “Dot” “Nana” Sandifer Davidson of Shreveport, LA was born on December 2, 1944 in Delhi Louisiana and passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Shreveport, LA, surrounded by close family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, 10:00 am, at First Southern Methodist Church, 300 Old Jefferson Road, Stonewall, Louisiana, officiated by Pastor McKee Williams and Pastor Kent Rhoads.  Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.

Nana dearly loved and cherished her family and friends. She found great joy in supporting her children and grandkids, always encouraging them through the good times and the bad. She was an effortlessly kind matriarch, and always found a way to brighten a conversation with positivity and support.

She enjoyed quilting, volunteering at church, and praising Jesus through song. Craft nights with close friends Lisa Nations, Richard Parker, Mary Winningham and others were a regular occurrence.  She relished family reunions, holidays, and any excuse to gather.

Strong, positive, sacrificing, kind, and caring. These are the attributes that described Dot. She understood that every situation had a bright side, and if you looked hard enough, the glass was always half full. Her strength never wavered, and she gracefully fought her illness to the very end.

Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her love and best friend - Robert E. Davidson, mother - Mable Sandifer, father - Anthony Derwood Sandifer, brother - Danny Derwood Sandifer.  She is survived by her children - William Russell King, Donna Hightower, Randall King (Wendy), Deanne Cameron, brother – Anthony Dewayne Sandifer (Thelma), sister – Kathy Allen (Howard Ray), daughter in law – Kay King, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and their spouses.

Honoring Dot as pallbearers: Michael King, Cody Reeves, Jonathon Hightower, Zachary King, Jackson Reeves, Dominic King, Joshua Reeves, Danny Gilcrease, and Bubba Morris.
